Drying Plant

Built in 1972 and regularly modernized, the drying plant is a true all-rounder as a multi-crop drying plant. Here, almost any biomass can be dried and, if necessary, pelletized, from pulp to grass and alfalfa to root crops. With 10 tons of water evaporation per hour and the design as a directly heated drum dryer, it is also extremely efficient to dry down even large volumes of moist biomass in a short time into a storable product to a moisture content of less than 12%.

Since 2020, the plant has been increasingly operated with natural wood chips instead of coal. This also makes the drying of your products much more sustainable in terms of climate protection! Furthermore, we are always striving to optimise the energy efficiency of the plant and evaluate it on an ongoing basis as part of our energy management system. Most recently, a pre-dewatering press for extremely moist bulk materials was installed, so that the thermal energy consumption could be significantly reduced and the throughput of drying product significantly increased.
